Hulda Thorisdottir received her B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Iceland and her Ph.D. from New York University.
Her research interests include the social and psychological bases of political ideology and attitudes. Her dissertation investigated how perceived social threat influences political ideology through its effect on motivation for cognition.
Awards and honors include the Fulbright Fellowship, the American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellowship, and the Douglas and Katharine Fryer Thesis Award in Psychology at New York University.
